Endorsements Matter

Election season is officially upon us. The bombardment of political ads, mailings, and emails can be overwhelming when trying to determine where candidates truly stand on the issues. As a supporter, you hold the subject of women’s health in the highest regard. Therefore, it is our mission to help you know where candidates stand on issues of importance.

By affecting policy makers through electoral and non-electoral activities, Planned Parenthood Advocates of Michigan (PPAM) works every day to protect and enhance the ability of Planned Parenthood to deliver reproductive healthcare services in our state. We base our endorsements on voting records for incumbent candidates as well as a comprehensive candidate questionnaire.

About Our Endorsements

PPAM does not make endorsements or issue “meets criteria” status unless the candidate has a 100% favorable questionnaire or voting record.
PPAM will give endorsement preference to incumbents with a 100% favorable voting record.
No candidate who does not have a voting record shall receive an endorsement without filing out a questionnaire.
A general election Endorsement Guide will be released in August. Candidates who would like to be considered for an endorsement should visit MiPlannedParenthood.org/endorsements.

Michigan Planned Parenthood Votes believes that all women and their families should have access to affordable health insurance.

Michigan Planned Parenthood Votes believes that Americans need to know how to make responsible decisions and stay healthy.

We’re ready to fight back against lawmakers who want to ban abortion, block access to birth control, and strip us of the rights we’ve worked so hard to secure. We’re ready to stop those who want to stand between our families and quality, affordable medical care.

We’ve had enough of politicians who ignore the majority — the voices of citizens, voters, and medical and public health professionals.

We are fighting to stop legislation that claims to be about protecting women’s health and safety, but takes away access to safe health care – and, if they won’t listen, we will take it to the ballot box.

We’re determined to elect women’s health champions who will stand with us, and get rid of out-of-touch politicians who have been forcing their own ideological agendas on millions of Americans. We’re voting, we’re fighting back, and we will win.
